29 faces day 2

Hello and Welcome

Today is day 2 of the 29 faces challenge
I seem to have a Pierrot theme going at the moment
I just love the white face and the facial expressions they have.

This one has been inspired on the 1970's singer Leo Sayer who used to dress as a Pierrot

The travelling journal and Anzac Day

Hello and Welcome

Today is Anzac day in Australia and my 5 year old was invited to join the Anzac March with his schoolmates. I have not seen the march before but I will not forget it! Hundreds of people lined the streets while veterans and children from all the local primary schools marched down the street to lay wreaths at the war memorial in remembrance to all the fallen. After the service everyone was invited to 'tea' where the local girl guides had baked 3000 Anzac biscuits to share, as is the tradition.

"Lest We Forget"

My contribution to today's party is part of the travelling journal I am involved with. This page is for fellow artist Lizzy Love who has created a wonderful set of stamps from her work which she sent for us as inspiration for her journal

Collage and acrylic paints

This is my last Australian blog entry as we travel back to the UK on Monday.
See you on the 'other side'!

Travelling Journal at the party

Hello and Welcome

Well it's been a bit hit and miss with my contributions to the party over the last few weeks.  We are packing up and moving back to the UK at the end of the month so it's 'All Change' (again). We've had a wonderful 2 1/2 years in Australia but are ready to go home to the UK so lots of stuff to sort out means not so much times for partying but thankfully I have had time to squeeze in my contribution for the travelling journal i am involved in which is set to last the whole year.

Here is my contribution for Manon Visser's journal. Her theme was 'Fantasy and Fun' The piece I created is a remake of one of my 'long ladies' that I really enjoyed making and thought would fit the theme perfectly

Travelling journal

Hello and Welcome

I have been out of the loop for a little while and missed my weekly dose of Paint Party Friday.  I have been going through a pretty creatively dry period but thank goodness for the Travelling Journal 'round robin' (love that phrase!) group to keep me going and here is my latest contribution.

collage, acrylic paint and ink stamps

This piece was inspired by fellow artist Beth Gould's journal with the theme
'Through the eyes of a child'

Thank you for taking the time to stop by
I hope you have a great weekend
