Travelling Journal at the party

Hello and Welcome

Well it's been a bit hit and miss with my contributions to the party over the last few weeks.  We are packing up and moving back to the UK at the end of the month so it's 'All Change' (again). We've had a wonderful 2 1/2 years in Australia but are ready to go home to the UK so lots of stuff to sort out means not so much times for partying but thankfully I have had time to squeeze in my contribution for the travelling journal i am involved in which is set to last the whole year.

Here is my contribution for Manon Visser's journal. Her theme was 'Fantasy and Fun' The piece I created is a remake of one of my 'long ladies' that I really enjoyed making and thought would fit the theme perfectly

Travelling journal

Hello and Welcome

I have been out of the loop for a little while and missed my weekly dose of Paint Party Friday.  I have been going through a pretty creatively dry period but thank goodness for the Travelling Journal 'round robin' (love that phrase!) group to keep me going and here is my latest contribution.

collage, acrylic paint and ink stamps

This piece was inspired by fellow artist Beth Gould's journal with the theme
'Through the eyes of a child'

Thank you for taking the time to stop by
I hope you have a great weekend

29 faces days 11 and 12

Hello and Welcome

I am struggling to keep up with this challenge at the moment but I don't want to give up.
We are having a family crisis which is emotionally draining and my art is a welcome distraction from life's dramas.

Anyway, I have two faces for you today

13 cm x 23 cm

Sometimes we just have to 'keep smiling'

29 faces day 9

Hello and welcome

Here is my face for today

13 cm x 23 cm

I had an idea of a melting mask and hoped I could make the drips look a bit like tears but I dont think the effect has works that way. Never the less, it was worth a try, I might a another go at this to see if I can get the look I am after.
After painting my bird-like plague doctor mask yesterday I Googled 'animal masks' and found this artists work very interesting Charlotte Caron

Thats it for today

29 faces day 8

Hello and Welcome

I have been looking on the web at masks and came across images of  a 'Plague doctors mask' They have been used in recent days by steam punk enthusiasts in creating a 'Gothic' look. I was inspired to use this mask on  today's face

13cm x 23cm

Thank you for taking the time to visit.

29 faces day 7

Hello and Welcome

I missed posting yesterday but will try and catch up over the next few days

Here is my face for today

13 cm x 23 cm

Today I thought of playing with the idea of a flower in the center of her face.  What I would really like to achieve is the effect of a blend between the mask and face so you cant tell which is which. Is she blue with a flesh coloured mask or is she wearing a blue suit with a flower shaped hole in the face?
Anyway, I am having fun with this idea and will keep experimenting with the concept for a few days.
