Hello and Welcome

I found an old sketchbook and was  looking through it when I came across these ladies
They were painted for a Suzi Blu online course in 2011

29 Faces day 16

Hello and Welcome

For my day 16 face I have something completely different from what I have done up to now.
I wanted to practice children for an idea I have for an exhibition I am involved with next month
.
13 cm x 20 cm
Acrylic paint

I find painting children quite difficult without them looking doll like so this challenge is a good opportunity for me to get some practice in :)

29 faces day 13

Hello and Welcome

After posting my face of lady GaGa yesterday, I decided to search more into makeup 'art' and found alot work in this area that I havent tapped into before. There was one artist who's work stood out. Her name is Alex Box

13 cm x 20 cm
Collage and acrylic

There was something which I found very inspirational that she says in her artists statement that I would like to share with you:

"I hope to show by example that I made loads of mistakes, had horrendous times of self doubt and still do, and always think I'm as good as my next piece of work. You have to take chances and risk failure or you may never discover new territory inside your own heart. Some of the best makeup I have done was because it was going wrong and I found a new, unexpected path that made it even better! It's the nature of the beast, creativity can be a ravenous animal and leave you in tatters, or it can exalt you to heights you never dreamt of".
"Please dare to dream, because with out dreams you're just sleeping"
